Haren Bora family car accident in Dikhow River Sibsagar, Assam

A tragic incident took place on 01 September 2018 (Saturday) on Sibasagar, where five members of the same family confronted their unexpected and untimely immediate death. Haren Bora family car accident in Dikhow River Sibsagar, Assam took place exactly around 6:30 am. Their car drowned in the Dikhow river, and it took no time for their lives to meet death.





Haren Bora and his family came from Guwahati to Sibsagar to visit their ancestral house located at Mitong Nakatani village in Dikhowmukh where his sister-in-law Poly Bora and her daughter Rimpi Borah (18 years) lives. They reached Sibsagar on Saturday itself but couldn't reach their destination, as this incident took place on their way.

Even after certain efforts made by the local people, none of the five lives could be rescued. It took no time for them to confront their death. The immediate death of five lives at once is not a simple and usual matter to hear and think upon.

The terrific and tragic incident took place on 01 September 2018 (Saturday), around 6:30 pm at Dikhow river, Sibsagar. Haren Borah along with his mother Phunou Bora (85 years), wife Phunu Borah (45 years) and daughters Simpi Bora (21 years) and Munmi Bora (18 years) reached Sibsagar from Guwahati on this particular day itself. They were about to visit their ancestral house where Haren's sister-in-law Poly Bora and her daughter Rimpi Borah (18 years) lives. His brother died some years back.





They did not take their driver and Haren himself drove the car. The car they were travelling was Swift Dzire. The road had a very sharp turning which was directly connected to the Dikhow river. As slight darkness started prevailing with the passage of time, Haren couldn't visualize the exact path to travel upon, due to which their car slipped into the river and immediately drowned. There were concrete posts set by the water resource department for protection, but the gap between the two posts was not close enough to stop the car to slip towards the river. As stated by the local eye witnesses the car floated for 7 to 8 minutes before it's terrific drown.

Several people came for their rescue among whom were Deba Borah, Mandeep Neog and Prabin Neog. But unfortunately even after certain efforts they couldn't save none of the lives. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) after making rescue operations from Sunday itself. The Sibsagar District Administration under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner, Pallav Gopal Jha are making constant efforts to take the bodies out of the river.

Investigations are stil l going on the government officials. The terrific incident of Haren Borah family car accident in Dikhow river Sibsagar, Assam had shook the hearts and minds of everyone. The immediate death of five lives is not a simple matter, we hear very often.
